OVERVIEW
Designed as a simple urban combat infantry carrier, the Firefly is an agile missile boat capable of supporting the infantry it drops.
CAPABILITIES
The TME-181 is a moderately fast helicopter with a standard blade arrangement powered by a tried and true TME 100 ICE. Its firepower comes primarily from six short-range missile two-packs supported by a chin-mounted long-range missile five rack. Each side of the Firefly has a ball turret mounting a single One-Two while four more are inset into the front hull, controlled by the pilot. A gunner, sitting just behind and below the pilot under the bubble canopy and wearing a virtual reality helmet controls the chin-mounted long range missiles and can also provide targeting support for the short range missiles. Four and a half tons of armor protect the Firefly and its four tons of cargo.
The missile launchers are designed to accept any standard missile warhead, and Fireflies often use incendiary LRM and Inferno SRM rounds.
DEPLOYMENT
Usually found in urban areas by heavy police tactical units and urban defense squads, the Firefly is also seen in mercenary units that, for some strange reason or another, specialize in city fighting.
