DEEP

For some reason, people tend to think I'm vaguely intelligent.

Y'know, the kind of guy who sits around in stony silence on occasion, looking like he's creating Deep Thoughts on Deep Things... when usually I'm just thinking about how to write something or wondering what else I can mix with vodka. There's a reason this section's preview picture is a collection of empty bottles.

This is where I stash things that I think up and write essays on. There's a few old ones, the ones that are still relevant; the ones I've grown out of I leave in the Archives as a reminder that yes, I was young and stupid once. Now I'm just less young and hopefully proportionally less stupid.

WRITING

"God and the Socratic Sophist" - philosophical fable about God dealing with blockheads. Written on a sleepless night in 2000.
"His Most Pious" - philosophical fable about God dealing with zealous blockheads. Written in 2001.
"I Once Had Wings" - angsty allegory about dreams dying and whatnot. Written for GSP in 2001.
"Remember the Maine" - the Terran Dominion makes peace with the Rasalhaguans... but has an ulterior motive. Written for Freshman (Advanced) English in HS; rewritten in 2004 for Boton Rice Candy. Might as well make someone's declared intro to SF at least halfway decent...
Mental Trouble - an accidental novella with a ship of fools and a sadly deus ex machina'd ending... but fun. Written for Freshman (Advanced) English in HS.
"Nullification" - old WZ story about why you don't want to be caught by the Reavers. Written around 2001.
Denoument - my attempt at a WZ novella, where I realized the universe was broken. Forever unfinished.
"A Moment of Insight" - What happens after NYC gets dusted by a terrorist nuke. Written pre-9/11, for Junior (Advanced) English in HS.
"Some Things Just Don't Get Along" - flappers, priests, and gangsters with only one eyebrow. For American History class in HS.
"Absolute Zero at Taco Bob" - Yours truly discovers a physical impossibility at work. Inspired by the walk-in fridge at the Elsmere Taco Bell in the summer of 1999.
