17 JAN 2003
Again, a long space in updating, seeing how I had winter break. Another issue of "Happy Cadets" as well as some more Battletech battle armor. I'm now a webmaster for AFROTC so it is quite possible I'll update this site even less thanks to the workload. I'll see what I can do.
24 JAN 2003
Hey, I actually did a weekly update! A big-ass supercarrier is up on the Designs page and another issue of "Happy Cadets!" Huzzah!
31 JAN 2003
Another weekly update! No "Happy Cadets" issue this week because my schedule didn't allow it; if I have time over the weekend I'll see what I can do. I finally revamped the Universe page--it was in dire need--after I discovered that there was actually some INTEREST in it (thanks, Kait!). In the spirit of continuing the Universe, I also put up two in-universe essays: an anti-propaganda "Our Neighbor to the North" and the confessions of a Reaver Mind Queen in "The Reaver Condition"--both of them more pro-Reaver than in the past, to show that a lot of the earlier stuff is colored by propaganda.
And for you Happy Cadets fans... which do, surprisingly, exist... I'm adding a direct link to Happy Cadets on this page. I've also got a banner and a button just in case anyone feels like linking to HC. Feel free to resize, chop, channel, etc. etc. whatever.
1 FEB 2003
Well, I updated "Happy Cadets." I only wish it had been under better circumstances.
6 FEB 2003
Another week, another "Happy Cadets,"
this time with some international political humor... or satire... or maybe just a sad
commentary on how absurd reality is. I'm thinking about redoing the Battletech 'Mech
pictures, maybe organize them by paint scheme rather than just simple 'mech data that one
can find anywhere...
That reminds me, I have to get a picture of my new 'Mechs eventually.
There is also a link to the Weird World of the Pagan Fishgod Priests in the links section. They asked me to put a link to them, and geez, are they random. I have no idea what the hell their problem is but my advice to them is to keep it up as long as possible. Stuff like that annoys people, and annoying people can be good.
14 FEB 2003
I've been too busy/lazy/preoccupied to make another "Happy Cadets" this week, so I raided the sketchbook instead. Physics class is good sketching time.
21 FEB 2003
I think I've made up for my lack of enthusiasm last week with this week's update. New Happy Cadets (with a new character!), and stats for the TME-176 Chainshot missile tank, the TME-182 Crusader artillery tank, the TME-185 Titan Heavy Carrier WarShip and the TME-186 Longship Escort Carrier WarShip. I'm also planning on putting up a new Project based on my NationStates country and region.
28 FEB 2003
Another "Happy Cadets," the TME-172 Watchfire Battlemech and -178 Esspeegee SPG for ya. Still thinking about updating the BT section.
Oh yeah, a new thing on the "Designs by other People" section--underwater battle armor! (Sorry, TJ) - 3 MAR 2003
06 MAR 2003
Another "Happy Cadets," and I'm on Spring Break. No updates for two weeks, probably.
21 MAR 2003
Well, everyone I know is writing something, so after a spark of inspiration I'm finally writing a Weirdo Zone Universe novel, Denoument. I'll serialize it by chapters in the Deep Stuff section as I get it done. I've also discovered one of my older short stories, "Nullification," which I'm also posting now.
Also, new "Happy Cadets." It's a bit more serious than usual, but, hell, we're at war.
Because of the increasing readership of "Happy Cadets," my ever present fan base (thanks, guys!) and my putting up a novel for serialization, I have paid off my webhost. 0Catch puts the most ludicrous number of pop-ups in their hosts... pop-ups, that you may have just noticed, no longer pop up!
This site is no longer a "even-a-tiny-bit-for-free" bit of fun. It is now a hobby of mine, I guess. Yay!
28 MAR 2003
Second chapter ("Power Play") of Denoument up in the Deep Stuff section. I like how this novel is going... it practically writes itself for now. I really like the clocktower on SLU's campus, it has several fountains near it that make a very soothing background good for creativity. Too bad it's been taken over by anti-war protestors.
On the subject of the war, read last week's "Happy Cadets" and you'll know my opinion of it. This week isn't even really a comic... sorry guys, it's hard being funny about the military when you think that our troops are dying out there, and no one seems to care... especially not Saddam's damned cronies--"Geneva conventions? What're those?" Bastards.
More Battletech designs: TME-177 Shukodny MBT, TME-180 Waspnest VTOL gunboat, TME-181 Firefly VTOL infantry gunboat, TME-183 Polearm Hover MBT. My Drawing Board program died and I have no idea why, so I guess no new 'mech designs for a while, and any that do come up won't have stat sheets. That's just annoying. Anyone who might have a heads up on this problem, let me know.
28 MAR 2003
NEW HAPPY CADETS COMIC... BY ME!
Sorry for the week of depression, folks, but we gotta represent for the troopers in the crowd. I know you guys want some levity, so here's a moderately sized portion.
In addition to that, the third chapter of Denoument, "Jihad, Anyone?" is up in the Deep Section. An ÜberDropShip, the TME-187 Loki, is up on the designs page.
21 APR 2003
Apologies for being erratic with updates. I got tasked to do two heavy-lifting things for the AFROTC Website, fought to keep up with my studies, and all other sorts of crazy-go-nuts stuff. Still, Easter Break means that I at least got another chapter in the novel done! I finally break out the good 'ol Ares and her crew, names I've dropped occasionally but never got around to using.
I'll warn everyone now, finals are coming up so I may cut back on the time I spend on this stuff. Sorry, but that's how it goes.
16 MAY 2003
Finals are OVER! W00t! I got a "B" in Calculus II! Hoo-rah! And I actually updated the site! Hell fragging yeah! New "Happy Cadets," going out to all those crazy diamonds in Detachment 207 (shine on!) and a new Denoument chapter featuring the Weirdo Zone Superbattleship Ares! I promise you that ass-kicking is forecoming in the novel... massive ass-kicking. When I get to it.
23 MAY 2003
Summer's been fun. I didn't write a new chapter this week, but I did assemble a list of characters for my own use... dang, I like extra characters like Lev fragging Tolstoy. Sad thing is I'm going to flesh out a lot of the side characters as time progresses... everyone who gets a name is probably going to get a personality too. *sigh*
New "Happy Cadets" for you, though, written to Weird Al's new album Poodle Hat. Eminem has now officially made it big; Weird Al made fun of him.
I've also been wasting more of my life on NationStates, except now I'm running a roleplaying game called "S-14" on there. It's working exceptionally well, all things considered!
1 JUN 2003
Next chapter in Denoument, "Failsafe Kilo," is up. No new Happy Cadets because I didn't get any inspiration this week... at least not anything strong enough to act on. I could just raid the Sketchbook... hrm... ya, I think I will. No new strip, but robot picture instead.
10 JUN 2003
Next chapter in Denoument, "Shady Dealings," is up. No new Happy Cadets because I didn't get any inspiration this week... or last week... been sick, and that blows. I'll warn everyone ahead of time--next week (16 to 20 June) I'll be in Vandenberg Air Force Base doing Professional Development Training for USAFROTC. Basically, no update next week. Lo siento. Maybe it'll give me "Happy Cadets" ideas, though...
21 JUN 2003
Hi all! Vandenberg AFB kicked massive ass. Ultimate best trip ever. The traveling sucked (for reasons best left unsaid) but, boy, did I ever enjoy that trip. Just for starters, here's five words for ya: Nuclear Capable Stealth Cruise Missile. I got to play around with... erm... examine one. Nifty bit of tech, that is, and it isn't even scraping the surface of all the cuh-razy stuff I did...
Let's just say I have "Happy Cadets" material for the rest of the summer. I have a new strip for you people, dealing with a) a momentary lapse of reason and b) a trained attack dog. Hilarity ensues. Hopefully.
Also, new chapter in Denoument for you: "Turnabout is Fair Play." Introducing BIG GIANT SPACE COMBAT (which has to be a plus) and my first crack at writing sexual psychology... which can't be that good, noting my lack of experience with such things. Hell, sex (kinda) and violence (most certainly)--I think we have a winner!
29 JUN 2003
Well, life's interesting in the 'ol domecile--floor painting, I've decided, is no fun. I've been looking at some changes that need to be made in the TME Industries BT designs sections, and I'll start getting to those.
New "Happy Cadets" for you fans out there, and this one has to do with nuclear missiles! It's amazing how enthusiastic missileers are about their jobs... of course, I'm the kind of person who would like being a missileer, what with my mole-like life, cat-like independence, and overbearing sense of duty and "hell, the world is over anyway" if the launch order comes through. I sure hope my capsule crew (or the USAF for that matter) will not mind my own peculiar brand of mortuary humor.
Denoument is proceeding apace, with a new chapter. Yes, the Thaurians are completely useless but not out of this yet, and yes, that Pikbuuv is a moderate sicko.
05 JUL 2003
HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY... A DAY LATE!
Life proceeds apace. Chapter X, "To the Hills," in Denoument is up for those who actually read my writing, and a new "Happy Cadets" having to do with the fabled Nuclear Capable Stealth Cruise Missile. Ahh, life is sweet, no?
It's been odd, but wasting my time on NationStates actually hasn't been a waste of my time, apparently. It's given me such experience in character-thought and writing that I feel my writing skills have improved dramatically over the last year. That, and the continual buttressing of my ego by people who say that I write and role-play (and draw and color and moderate) well... I really dunno; I think I'm just a hack at all that stuff but I'm still remembering to thank people for being nice. Let's just hope it doesn't all go to my head.
Good news on the personal front; hopefully I won't be so mopey at times anymore. I live under a series of well-defined directives and attitudes; one of these was creating a major conflict so I "re-examined my priorities" and went psycho. Heh, not really. I determined it to not serve any useful purpose and so it has been appropriately modified. I still have some pretty odd ideas and one non-beneficial attitude that will never change; still, by removing needless internal conflict one can achieve greater efficiency.
Hmm... I tend to frighten people when I say things like that. I better kill this "brief" before it becomes another fraggin' essay.
13 JUL 2003
Late update due to communications troubles. Another chapter in Denoument, "Guesses." It doesn't jump around quite as much as usual, but I do introduce a relatively important character. Sorry for the lack of Happy Cadets this week, but stuff happens. *shakes fist*
I found the time to update the TME Industries designs page... lessee... TME-188 ÜberAtlas (abusing assault 'Mechs and rotary autocannon), TME-189 Crusader IIC (abusing ATMs and missiles in general), TME-190 Centipede modular cargo dropship tug, TME-191 President-General supercarrier (makes a Thera-class look like a damned toy), TME-192 Scarab utility shuttle, TME-193 Yari space denial platform (mmmmm... double-barreled HNPPC...), TME-196 Selene luxury shuttle, and the TME-198 Scorpion fast-attack frigate.
I've been thinking about revamping the Battletech section, but I can't quite think of a way how quite yet. I mean, wow, battlemech listings. No one's ever done that before. Maybe if I just make it a paint-job showoff section... hrm... that'd take a bit of time. I could organize by scheme: Camouflage, Greys, Solid Colors, Regimental Colors, Nutty Stuff...
19 JUL 2003
New "Happy Cadets" one-panel for ya (you'll understand when you see it) and another chapter in Denoument. More space-battle stuff, among other things. I've got the assets for a few more TME designs ready but I just have to assemble them.
24 JUL 2003
NEW STUFF! "Happy Cadets," complete with lung-boiling respiratory agents; Denoument, with arguably the most cold-blooded character I've ever written; the TME-195 Wildcat corvette for the fast and furious amongst you BattleSpacers; and the TME-199 Beagle research cruiser for those of a more curious nature.
1 AUG 2003
Absolutely nothing new this week. I don't know why, but I've had absolutely no motivation whatsoever this week. Maybe it's because I'm feeling under the weather. I have these sort of rash-things on my wrists with no idea where they came from, my muscles are kinda sore, and I'm somewhat fatigued.
If anyone out there recognizes this as some sort of deadly über-plague, don't tell me. I want to be surprised.
30 AUG 2003
Back to school. Time is going to be rather short, so the creative production is going to scale back somewhat. Still, aerospace drone rules, the TME-202 Funnel aerospace drone, and the TME-203 Sulaco II heavy drone cruiser are up on the designs section. "Happy Cadets" and Denoument will probably get worked on during Tuesdays... they're pretty light.
06 SEP 2003
Like I said, slower output. I've really only fixed an error on the TME-53 Tiger and added CG pictures for the TME-12, the TME-53, and Thomas Ebel's GI Man-at-Arms and Commander series. I've been fiddling with Denoument but having trouble with "Happy Cadets" inspiration. Don't worry, something will come up. Just give me time.
14 SEP 2003
Well, I've got more CG pictures up, and a picture of the ULTIMATE TIM MODE.
21 SEP 2003
Not much going on. Progress is being made on Denoument and I've made arrangements to get "Happy Cadets" back on track... new technology forthcoming. All I need now is time.
27 SEP 2003
Let me tell you a story of a thousand rainy days. Paintball sucked and I've been voluntold that I'm in the cadet band. Thus, I had my flute sent from Kentucky and have, in five hours, made up four years of not playing it. See?

14 OCT 2003
Got a new section up dedicated to my computer generated art.
31 OCT 2003
Life is really busy as of late, my apologies.
Been a little sloppy in classes and am making up for it now... urgh. Maybe
I'll find time to doodle some "Happy Cadets" eventually but for now Denoument
is on inactive standby. I'll get to it when I can.
Anyway, CGA page updated, and I'm slowly working on updating the TME
designs with new art. The essay "Tim's Personality" has been taken down
pending update.
Grrr... I really wanna work on my novel. Stupid life.
07 NOV 2003
Okay, life officially blows. Oh, it blew before, but now it undeniably blows. Dumped by my (ex-)girlfriend, grades dropping, lonlier than ever, no time inbetween being a lazy ass and working said lazy ass off for productive self-introspection, wandering about in a haze of self-doubt and abject misery, damn nigh without purpose...
Yeah, I hate life and all attendant living that goes with it. Then again, that's nothing new. Seems to be a common affliction, though, so I'll just shut the hell up about it now.
"Happy Cadets" is now officially over. I have neither the time, inspiration, or inclination to continue it. As mentioned previously, life sucks and is decidedly unfunny. Not even "unfunny in a satireable way." More like "children rotting off the bone from hunger whilst still alive" unfunny. "No way to make funny" unfunny. So, for all of you who check the site every so often to see if there's a new "Happy Cadets," you can stop wasting your time now.
My thanks to all those who submitted ideas for "Happy Cadets" strips. They all sucked, but the effort and enthusiasm is appreciated.
Well, that's enough about me. How's your life going?
07 NOV 2003

Life is good and everything is fine! I'm having a terrific time, aren't you? Love and peace!
15 NOV 2003
Some more TME designs are up, all aerospace fighters.
13 DEC 2003
Ugh, busy life. Well, a metric f*ckton of new compyart and I finally posted the stats of the TME-194 Surgeon.
