"CHON" <CHon> noun-acronym. The pronunciation of the acronym Carbon-Hydrogen-Oxygen-Nitrogen, indicating anything composed of complex organic compounds (especially of a biologically derived nature). Often used by ship crews to denote foodstuffs. Derives from the composition of most complex organic compounds, which are recycled constantly in space-based life support systems.
